Original Broadcast Date: Oct. 27, 1970
Attempted Synopsis: A game show called "Blackmail"; a speech from the president of The Society For Putting Things on Top of Other Things; an unworthy talk show is removed for time purposes; a room falls down around an innocent visitor; an ultra-low-budget version of "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers"; a schizophrenic butcher; a brain-free boxer; John Cleese rues the thought that he might not be able to announce next week's show.
Review: Most of the show contains filmed sequences (as opposed to live-on-tape), which seemingly slows the show's pace a little. But there are some priceless bits, such as the Society president (Graham Chapman) insisting that they must make their group a success, because "otherwise, we're just a group of men meeting together for no reason"; and the "Seven Brides" stuff, featuring five men, two women, and no spontaneity.
Priceless Gag: The boxer's (John Cleese) slack-jawed reaction to a parked car that has disrupted his morning jog.
