Episode 32 - "The War Against Pornography"

"There is no cannibalism in the British Navy. And when I say there is none, I mean there is a certain amount."

Original Broadcast Date: Nov. 23, 1972

Attempted Synopsis: A newsreel about housewives who clean up Britain through intimidation; Gumby brain specialists; a door-to-door documentary about mollusks; news about officials who have long titles; a soccer match gets romantic; a back-handed apology; a naval expedition to a lake located in a local flat; an announcer dates a guest.

Review: Another hoot from start to finish, and proof that the Pythons mine laughs from areas that other comics wouldn't even think of. (How far could anyone else take a sketch about a door-to-door documentary?) Even when the final sketch deconstructs itself, it does so hilariously.

Priceless Gag: A seemingly intelligent surgeon (Graham Chapman) has the Gumby costume applied to his face, whereupon he turns into a Gumby.
