Episode 41 - "Michael Ellis"

Original Broadcast Date: Nov. 7, 1974

Attempted Synopsis: A man wishing to purchase an ant becomes involved in a search for someone named Michael Ellis; video instruction for ants; more crazy stuff at the Michael Ellis store.

Review: The seams at "Flying Circus'" finish are starting to show. The "End" credit is placed immediately after the opening credit, followed by unusually congratulatory applause for what is to come--satire, perhaps, but it still seems a little narcissistic, especially when one of the segment's first "gags" is nothing but a doorman getting kneed in the groin. And the Pythons seem far more interested in uncovering the real "Michael Ellis" than we the audience are. The funniest bit is at show's end, where they can't quite decide how to properly wrap things up. How about by bringing John Cleese back?

Priceless Gag: A customer indicates the total lack of safety in a particular flame thrower by barbecuing one of the clerks. "I mean, what if this fell into the wrong hands?
