(Animal) = Kaou's animal buddy :: S t o r y l i n e :: There was once an angel named Tsuruyo who was a great warrior for heaven. Heaven and Hell have been fighting a war for all eternity. During one of the battles Tsuruyo was killed (yes they can die in this story). But she weilded this amazing sword (a gift from "God" for lack of a new name) that was all-powerful (the power of "God") and only she could use it, but even so, she hid the sword before she died. Now they need to find her and "wake" her up to help them fight back in Heaven because her soul has been missing for nearly 800 Earth years. They finally found a girl on earth called Kika who could help them find where Tsuruyo went when she died in the battle. The demons were sent to earth to try and dispose of Kika so she could not help Heaven find Tsuruyo, and the Devil only sent the two of them because...Kika's a human and he figured it would only take the two, Yurinoki and Shoubu, to get rid of her. So, Kaou was sent to protect Kika until Tsuruyo was found because the demons' objective was to kill Kika because if there's no Kika, there's no Tsuruyo, meaning there's no sword, and Heaven is no longer a threat. In order to keep an eye on Kika, Kaou decided to attend the same school as her, and that's where they first met. Incidently around the same time two other new students came to the school (Yurinoki and Shoubu). Yuri and Shou end up being like rivals to Kika and Kaou. And Sora follows Kaou around during school, but since Sora is an ethereal being, only angels (and maybe demons, maybe not) can see him. Thus, only Kaou and Kika (for some reason) can see him. We find out that the ethereal sword was "changed" into 7 pieces. These pieces are really random things like a chess piece, a ring, etc. So they have to go around and find these seven pieces in order to find Tsuruyo and get back the sword in able to defeat Hell in the Uber Battle. However, the demons want the sword as well, so they're competing against Kaou and Kika to try and find the seven pieces first. :: P a s t I n f o :: We find out that in the past, Tsuruyo was originally friends with Sora. She was a very high-ranking, probably the highest ranking, commander in Heaven's army. She would often have flashes of her future in her dreams, and she saw that she was going to die soon in the upcoming battle. Therefore, Tsuruyo created Sora to be like a guardian or an advisor to her after seeing these dreams, though not for her protection. Sora was created so that, after Tsuruyo died, he would be able to find her sword that she hid away. However, he would not be able to find it until many years later, when Tsuruyo's soul said it was time. She requested to Sora that the person charged with the capability to find the "pieces" be left to find them without the help of Sora's memory. During this same time, while Tsuruyo was still alive, Kaou was a member of Heaven's army as well. However, he was nothing more than a soldier, and while he was one of the best, it didn't earn him any recognition. He never personally knew Tsuruyo, but despite this, Kaou grew to have a crush on her. Likewise, Tsuruyo actually did notice Kaou and had a crush on him as well, but she didn't say anything about it since she was a high-ranking official, and he was only a soldier. Therefore, just before she died, she told Sora to go with Kaou, which he did. From then on, Kaou and Sora grew to be good friends, and despite the devastation they both felt from Tsuruyo's death, they managed to move on for the most part. When word was going around that Tsuruyo's spirit had been found on earth, Sora and Kaou jumped at the opportunity to get the assignment before anyone else, determined to be the two that would reawaken Tsuruyo. The job they were assigned, however, was to look after this girl Kika, who was said to be the one who would help find the sword that Tsuruyo had. If they found the sword, Tsuruyo's spirit would then be revived.
