Back in World War II, Kleiser was Captain America's main adversary. It was his alien race, the Chitauri, that helped the Nazis develop the technology to create a large nuclear missile. When Captain America destroyed a Nazi Supply Train, Kleiser was thought to be lost. However, Kleiser had survived. The US Military thought that the Chitauri were annihilated.
When S.H.I.E.L.D. found that Chitauri sightings have been reported, Nick Fury informed the Ultimates on the situation. Nick Fury then led several troops to Micronesia to take on the Chitauri. This was all a plan that Kleiser devised to get rid of the Ultimates and several S.H.I.E.L.D. soldiers. When they arrived at Chitauri's Micronesia base, an atomic bomb was detonated. It was then that Kleiser and the Chitauri took over the Triskelion and planned to destroy the Earth. However, it was revealed that the Ultimates and several S.H.I.E.L.D. soldiers.
A battle ensued as Kleiser fought his long-time rival, Captain America to a stand still. It was then that Captain America called in the Hulk, who then proceeded to eat Kleiser.
