Yellowjacket II

Hank Pym was fist seen as the lead scientist on Otto Octavius' case when he was first brought into S.H.I.E.L.D. custody after the explosion at Osborn Industries fused two pairs of metal arms to his torso. After Octavius escaped, Pym apparently was put on enother case for S.H.I.E.L.D., working on a new Super-Soldier serum for S.H.I.E.L.D. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was there he started to develop the Giant-Man formula and a helmet that could communicate with ants. He also took credit for his wife's powers, to shrink, sprout wings, and shoot a 'wasp-sting', because she didn't want anyone to know she was a mutant.

After the Super-Soldier program was given a hundred and fifty billion dollar cash injection, Pym was put as the head with Banner being demoted to number two, because of his Hulk episode. This caused great jealousy from Banner. Pym finally perfected his formula and was able to grow to fifty-nine feet, eleven and a-half inches tall, a half an inch short of the size where his body will no longer be able to support his weight.

On their first mission against the Hulk, which Banner became since he didn't want his dream to go up in smoke and because he wanted the others to stop making fun of him and became big again, Pym got a blow to his ego when he was taken out fairly easily by Hulk and his wife was the one that ended up bringing they Grey Goliath down. When they were invited to dinner at the house of Tony Stark, the Iron Man, Hank said he wanted to skip it, instead just work on his Ant-Man helmet. After they exhanged some harsh words, Hank hit Janet, which lead to a big fight which ended up having Janet turning small and going under a desk, while Hank sent in a legion of ants to attack her.

When she was hospitalized, their neighbors said that their was a big domestic fight and Pym was seen leaving early in the morning with a duffle bag. It was revealed by Betty Ross that this wasn't the first time he has hit her, he did it all the time in college. After hearing this, Captain America tracked Pym down to the Red Lion Pub in Chicago, Illinois and took a transport helicopter there to confront Pym and have him pay for what he did.

Without his super-hero identity, Pym continued on to work on several super-hero ideas for S.H.I.E.L.D.. A couple ideas dealt with something called Ultron and another dealing with ants. Several months later, Fury understood that no one would allow Giant-Man to join the Ultimates again. With that, Fury gave Pym a new identity and background, so that he could join as the astonishing Ant-Man.

After their defeat, however, Pym claims that he infiltrated the group in order to expose a traitor among the Ultimates, but is jailed. He is later turned over to the Ultimates under house arrest. When Ultron tried to take over the Ultimate, Pym helped the team as Ant-Man. He eventually returns to the Ultimates in the identity of Yellowjacket.

Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym
