Rape--Self-explanatory. All stories labeled Rape would be rated between R and NC-17 in an American film, depending on the graphicness of the rape scene (if it occurs within the story). If a story does not have a rape scene, but rape is dealt with, the label will be Mention of Rape
Lemon--slang for a scene in which graphic sex takes place. Stories in which the sex scene is the story are called "Plot? What Plot?s," or PWP for short. All stories labeled Lemon would rate NC-17 if they were an American film. Non-standard sexual practices such as sadism will also be marked.
Squick--slang for things which make you go "ick." Read at your own risk.
Lime--slang for a scene in which non-graphic or "fade-out" sex takes place. All stories labeled Lime would rate between R and NC-17 in an American film.
Violence--Self-explanatory. All stories labeled Violence would be rated between PG and NC-17 in an American film.
Death--Self-explanatory. All stories labeled Death would be rated between PG and NC-17 in an American movie, depending upon the graphicness and manner of death.
Angst--In stories labeled Angst, one or more characters go through major or not-so-major emotional upheaval. All stories labeled Angst would be rated between PG and NC-17, depending upon the type and degree of angst and other factors.
Incest--Stories containing sexual/romantic interaction between relatives. All stories labeled Incest would be rated at PG or higher, depending upon content.
Underage--Stories containing sexual/romantic interaction between at least one character who is below the age of majority (16 years old). All stories labeled Underage would be rated at least PG, depending on content.
Yaoi and Yuri--Slang terms for gay and lesbian relationships, repectively. Stories labeled Yaoi and Yuri do not have set ratings--as with Romance, the rating depends upon the content.
Romance--Implies romantic physical interaction between characters. Unless the story also carries a Yaoi or Yuri label, all relationships are heterosexual in nature. Stories labeled Romance have no set rating; rating will depend entirely on content, though see Lemon and Lime
Crossover--Stories labeled Crossover attempt to join two or more series. Rating depends on content.
WAFF--Stories labeled WAFF are intended to give the reader Warm And Fuzzy Feelings (WAFF, for short). No story solely labeled WAFF would be rated above PG in an American film.
Humor--Self-explanatory. Stories labeled Humor may be any rating, depending on content. Appropriate warnings will be attached.
Spoilers--Stories labeled Spoilers give away important plot events for the series they are written for.
Many stories have more than one label. This indicates that the story has a mixture of those elements. If one of the elements (such as Rape) is offensive to you, you should not read the story.
