Pires can be a little odd sometimes, but he's still a very fun character.
Pires moved down to Houston, from Butte Montana, where he was born. He'd been living with a roommate and a cat.
When Pires was young he wanted to be a cop because the Butte police were always coming over and arresting his father.
Pires' parents were a couple of drunk people who had no ability to plan ahead and were mean a lot of the time.
Needless to say, it was ironic that Leerso married him, since her mother was killed by a drunk guy.
Pires has a police dog named Pumbaa, who usually takes up most of his space on the bed. So, Pires often ends up taking Leerso's space, and Leerso eventually tosses the dog off. This seems to happen every night. Pumbaa still hasn't learned. Nor has Pires learned to toss the dog off, himself.
Some of the odd things Pires occasionally does get him into trouble... Like painting the black part of the police car puce, and naming it Chuck. Leerso tends to either laugh at him or ignore him when he gets like that.
