Ardra Aynya Renelsior was born in Indianapolis, IN on June 20, 1980. She is the second child of Bob and Anna (Sicis) Renelsior. Recognized as a genius early in life, Ardra spent most of her childhood at various schools, eventually earning degrees from several different colleges, including Harvard, Yale, M.I.T., and Oxford. Her parents moved frequently, mostly due to Anna's habit of antagonizing the neighbors. As a result, Ardra never really established a feeling of belonging.
In her teens, Ardra left the U.S. for a few years to live in Japan. After graduating from a culinary school in Osaka, Japan, Ardra moved back to her birthplace in Indianapolis and went to work for a pharmaceuticals firm, Elwood Dilly. Chafing under the yoke of corporate oppression, Ardra quickly left to become a free-lance inventor. Despite finding a sense of purpose, and making tons of money, she still felt as if something was missing from her life....
Then one day, Ardra had an epiphany. She would conduct the most important, life-changing experiment possible. Ardra decided to have children. And to make the experiment a little more interesting, why not have twins?
Ardra found a suitable "paternal donor" and surrogate mother because, in Ardra's completely scientific view, "Childbirth is really sort of disgusting!" Ardra then conducted the appropriate genetic manipulations to create two super geniuses. These two would, hopefully, lead the world into a new Age of Reason, a new Renaissance....
And so, Lenore and Eileen were born. After the girls spent about a year with their surrogate (to handle all the "messy baby stuff"), Ardra became a full fledged "maternal care-giver". The grand experiment continues today, seven years later. But the question is: Can Ardra overcome maternal instincts to raise the girls in a completely logical, unbiased scientific manner? Stay tuned, as our favorite "Iron Chef" loving, cell-phone hating, Libertarian Woman of Science tries her hand at motherhood.
Lenore Miyuko Renelsior was born on March 14, 1999, in Indianapolis, IN. She quickly established herself as the more outgoing and fun-loving of the twins. Perhaps one of the world's strangest foodies, Lenore thinks that squid ink is the perfect condiment, and loves all sorts of Japanese seafood and other exotic dishes that would turn the stomach of nearly any other child her age.
Genetically engineered to look a bit different than Eileen, Lenore has one green eye and one brown eye, as well as blonde hair, differentiating her from Eileen and Ardra. Another thing that makes Lenore stand out is her telekinetic ablities, which she apparently honed in her spare time, in an effort to "use my mind to its fullest capacity".
Lenore, like her sister, can be sarcastic, but there's a bit more of a tongue-in-cheek aspect to her sarcasm. She truly loves her family, although she'd probably never admit it publicly. Unlike Eileen, she's proud to be different from everyone else, and takes great pleasure in "freaking people out". Can a girl as strange as Lenore bring about the New Renaissance that Ardra hopes for?
Eileen Asako Renelsior was born on the same date as her sister (they're twins, after all...that's how it normally works!). A somewhat melancholy sort, Eileen sees a cloud in every silver lining, and thinks the world is hopelessly full of idiots and the idiocy they create.
She feels that having an enormously high IQ is more of a curse than a blessing. After all, as she puts it, "Stupidity is celebrated on a daily basis....the world will collapse under the weight of its own idiocy before I'm old enough to do anything about it."
Eileen seems to see the bad in everything, and feels the good is mostly inconsequential. Can this ultra-depressing girl carry out Ardra's hoped-for objectives? Or will Eileen decide it's all hopeless, anyway?
