Hecate

• Hecate is an immortal being who is commonly mistaken for the Olympian Goddess of the same name. However, they are not the same person. This Hecate is a scientist of some sort and is not inherently evil as it originally seemed when she made her first appearance. In addition to her longevity, she has the ability to channel energy and shoot explosive rays of force and she can also conjure up the worst fears of any opponent in order to turn them into actual physical counterparts.
• In her only appearance to date, Hecate encountered Ms. Marvel and the Elementals as she sought a powerful ruby scarab. The Elementals found the scarab first and used it to levitate a small island, which they dropped onto Hecate and Ms. Marvel, who had been fighting during this time. Using her powers, Hecate blasted the island, but she ended up accidentally killing Ms. Marvel’s friend, Salia Petrie in the process. The Elementals attacked both Hecate and Ms. Marvel, who teamed up and defeated them. Then, in her Carol Danvers form, Ms. Marvel was going to use the scarab against Hecate, but the scarab merged her Carol personality with her Ms. Marvel personality (they were separate at the time), which caused Ms. Marvel to forgive Hecate and give her the scarab to keep it from falling into the wrong hands.
• That’s it. Hecate has never been seen since. I wouldn’t mind if she made a comeback. This character has tons of untapped potential and would make a good ally for a lot of Marvel heroes, especially Ms. Marvel/Warbird, who is still an active heroine.
