Buddy Max recorded his first record in 1949 on Broadway and 42nd St. in New York City,N.Y.At about that time he appeared onstage in the Newark,New Jersey Armory where Gene Autry,Johnny Bond,Pat Butrum together with Gene Autry's horse Champion put on a Country & Western Show.Buddy Max introduced his friend Big George to Gene Autry,Johnny Bond and Pat Butrum.
Raised in New Jersey,Buddy Max played with the Kingwood Township Plowboy Band,1953,Hollywood,California.He recorded his second record in 1955 in Tampa Florida.Sang every Sunday at Cowboy Pleasure Pony Club in Largo,Fla. in the arena and rodeo.
Buddy Max played his guitar and sang his way into the heart of Freda,as he played and sang at a radio station in Tampa,Florida.The announcer said Buddy had the most unusual unique voice found anywhere in the country music field and he did a good job.
In 1966 Buddy and Freda helped organize the Moose Club in Crystal River,Fla.,where he is a charter member.Buddy and Freda were the first to entertain and play at the dance there.At that time Buddy played the guitar and Freda played the accordian.
1969 to 1974 presented the Adam and Eve play in Lecanto Fla.,1976 to 78 three day Festival with Opry Stars from Nashville.September 1977 Buddy Max,Freda and Johnny were the first to sing and play at Crystal River Rodeo.Today you see him and Freda at the Flea Market Tuesdays & Fridays and at the Saturday Show at the Cowboy Junction Opry.
