Lee Kernaghan is in my opinion and the opinion of thousands of other fans the greatest Australian Country Music artist ever produced.
Apart from his awesome songwriting, music and singing talents Lee is a fantastic down to earth Aussie guy that goes out of his way to assist worthy Australian chairities and also spend time with his fans.
Recently in January 2003 I sent an email to Lee's management with a very strange request.
I wanted to propose marriage to my girlfriend Karen at Lee's upcoming Brisbane concert in March 2003.
A request that I really didnt think would eventuate to anything.
To my surprise about a week later I got a reply saying YES!!! Lee would love to assist.
After 3 months of emails almost everyday back and forward to his management the details were finalised on my mobile phone about an hour before his Brisbane concert started.
By the way all this was done WITHOUT my girlfriend Karens knowledge.
Anyway half way through the concert Lee ran a contest which of course Karen was organised to win and we both had to go up onstage to collect our prize.
Once onstage right there and then the concert was stopped and Lee handed me the microphone for my wedding proposal infront of 3500 screaming and excited country music fans. Much to Karens embaressment I must say.
Luckily Karen also said YES!!!
