"Lu2 Gu1 Hu2", home to a minority group - "Mo4 Suo1 Zu2". Many families stay near this fresh water lake which is crystal clear and very calm. The fishes are really sweet and fresh! The place is relatively undisturbed by tourists and the environment is very peaceful. The "Mo4 Suo1 Zu2" only baths 3 times (birth, marriage & death) in their entire life! The air is cold and dry which allows food to remain fresh for a very long time even without a fridge! Buffet style anyone?
Brave heart. Who dares wins!
An elderly man. He doesn't speak any mandarin at all and I had to use 'sign language' to communicate with him.
A matriarch up in the mountains preparing for a religious offering to the mountain gods. The climb up there is really tough!
A woman washing her clothes in the lake. Err... no detergents required.
X-Files... Ah-ha! Murder caught red-handed!
Cruise to nowhere, anyone?
Killing field. For suicidal only! (For those who doesn't understand Chinese, it's a toilet.)
Bordering Tibet, Zhongdian has a tibetan culture. Even the achitectural designs were modelled after the Potala Palace ('bu4 da3 la1 gong1'). Zhongdian is also known as the much sought after Shangri-La.
A very colourful view of the Tibetan monastry.
Breathtaking view from the top of the Tibetan monastry.
Have you notice that the monastery only face a certain direction? Observe again. What have you discovered?
A lama at leisure.
Before the start of our 7km walk to Bi4 Da4 Hai4. It's so cold that we had to drink some local alcohol before the journey to keep our bodies warm.
