He lived as a boy between Virginia and what is known today as the Leslie Settlement in Kentucky . As a man he moved to what is known today as Ashland , Boyd County, Kentucky or when he lived there it was Lawrence County Kentucky.
He married Jane Hogan in 1836, one source says Kentucky another source says Ohio . They had there children in Lawrence County Kentucky. On Census records it states John P. Leslie as a farmer and the value of his estate as $1000 in 1870. Like his fathers before him I am sure he did what came natural to him and that was to grow and tend to a farm.
Unfortunately I do not have any further information pertaining to John. I do not know where he is burried and his last known whereabouts are in Durbin, Boyd County, Kentucky taken from 1880 Census he was 71 years old living with his wife Jane and a granddaughter Easter.
