I'm not cute or built to suit a model's fashion size
But when I start to tell them
They think I'm telling lies.

It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips
The stride of my steps
The curl of my lips.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please

The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees
Then they swarm around me
A hive of honey bees.

Wide eyed southern ladies
Dressed in hoop skirts and pantaloons
Raven hair and ruby lips
Long white gloves adorn their fingertips
As beauty reverently unfolds
For handsome gentlemen to behold
Charm, elegance and grace
To be held sacred in this place
Sit they do little coquettes
Children entertained with vignettes
All assembled on the veranda
While men-folk speak some local propaganda
Brocade fans cooling their faces
To erase perspiration's traces
Lovely ladies of profound honor
Fathers take serious their dishonor
Southern belles beauty to behold
