Three Fish Items Sorshey Ilish | Pabda Macher Jhol | Pomfret Fry | Steamed Rohu
Sorshey Hilsha

Serving : 4 people
Ingredients:

  • 4 pcs. Of Hilsa
  • Curd - 1tbsp
  • Mustard paste - 1tbsp.
  • Kalo jeera - 1/2 tsp
  • Masturd oil - 2tbsp
  • Green chilli - 2

Method:

  • Clean fish and wash in cold water. Marinate with curd, mustard paste, salt and mustard oil for about half an hour. Heat oil in a pan. Add Kala jeera and green chilli - slit along the length. Pour over fish. Add a bit of water and heat lightly. Bring to boil and remove.

Pabda Macher Jhol

Serving : 4 people
Ingredients:

  • 4 Paabdas
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Tumeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cummin (Jeera) powder - 1 tsp
  • Corriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Kalo Jeera - 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard Oil - 1tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped Corriender leaves - 1tbsp

Method

  • Clean and wash the fish. Marinate with tumeric, jeera and corriender powder and salt for 10 minutes. Heat oil in a pan and add kalo jeera and green chili. Add fish and a little water. Bring to a boil and dry excess water. Reduce heat and cover pan. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

Pomfret Fry

Serving : 4 people
Ingredients:

  • 4 pcs. Pomfrets
  • Garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • Ginger paste - 2 tsp
  • Tomato sauce - 1tsp
  • Tumeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Onion minced - 1
  • Chilli powder (optional) - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 2tbsp

Method

  • Clean and wash the fishes. Slice slightly on both sides. Marinate with salt and tumeric for half and hour. Heat oil in a pan. Add minced onions, sliced green chillies and fry till light brown. Add fish and cook for five minutes. Remove fried fish and top it with tomato sauce.

Bhapa Rohu (Steamed Rohu)

Serving : 4 people
Ingredients:

  • 4 pcs. Rohu
  • Mustard seed paste - 2 tsp
  • Poppy seed paste - 2 tsp
  • Tumeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Green Chilli - 2
  • Oil - 2tbsp

Take five to six pieces of ruhi fish. Wash and pat dry. Sprinkle a little salt and turmeric powder on the fish and rub well. Marinate with lemon juice for half an hour. Put the fish in this paste and fold in well. Add a little salt and turmeric powderto the paste. Pour two tablespoons of mustard oil into a container (use a steel tiffin box). Put the fish with the paste into it. Close the lid lightly and place it in a pressure cooker. Pour two and half cups of water and close the lid. Pressure cook on medium heat for 10-15 minutes. Serve hot.
