Green chillies | 4. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Onion | 1 . | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Garlic paste | 1/2 tsp. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ginger paste | 1/2 tsp. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Chilli powder | 1 tbsp. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Turmeric powder | 1 tsp. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Roasted & powdered garam masala* | 1 tsp. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Salt | to taste. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Procedure : Grate coconut & extract thick milk by adding hot water. Grind onion, garlic, ginger into a smooth paste. Apply salt & turmeric to prawns, fry & keep aside. In the same oil add the paste & fry till leaves oil. Add coconut milk, boil & add prawns. Cook till the gravy becomes thick. Add garam masala & mix well. |

STEAMED CHINGRI (PRAWN)
INGREDIENTS: Prawn (500 gm), salt, turmaric powder(1/5 tsp),oil, green chilli (chopped), mastard seed and coconut paste (8 table spoon), masturd oil (2 teaspoon)
METHOD: Marinate the shrimp with salt,turmaric powder and the masturd and coconut paste for 1 hour. Add chilli. Put the whole preparation in a closed box (e.g. steel tiffin box). The closed box to be steam cooked in pressure cooker or it can be cooked in the same vessel alongwith rice. Remove the box after cooking and it is ready to serve.
