  • 3 tbsp. Vegetable Shortening
  • 2 cups Confectioners' Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Whole Milk
  • 3 ounces Unsweetened Chocolate
  • ¼ tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla


  1. Melt vegetable shortening and chocolate in a saucepan over low heat.
  2. Stir in remaining ingredients; beat until smooth.
  3. Place pan of frosting in bowl of ice and water; continue beating until of spreading consistency. If desired, stir in ½ cup finely chopped nuts.

Serving Suggestions: Cover frosting on a Plain Cake, Vanilla Cake or any other baked cake.
