HILTON COUNTRY MUSIC CLUB

STEVE CHASE 21st MARCH 2018

REPORT BY TEXAS TED

Steve, as we had fully expected, provided us with an evening of pure Country Music, which pleased both listeners and dancers. His jovial, cheerful style always comes across to his audiences. Several people commented on Steve’s excellent sound quality and choice of material.

Along with a few regular favourites from Merle Haggard, Alan Jackson and George Strait, we heard "Miles And Miles of Texas" from Asleep At The Wheel, and a Raymond Froggatt song that neither I, or our compere Ivor James, was familiar with, but which was well received by the audience.

It was also a pleasure to welcome Steve’s side kick from their duo "Best Of Friends", who have a very full diary at present, in the unmistakable shape of Middy, who came with his lovely wife and chauffeuse, Elaine. It was nice to see Jimbo, Steve’s roadie, too.

All in all, a very enjoyable evening once more at our friendly little club.

Next up is our old mate Dave Paisley on 18th April, promising another good night.

Our usual thanks go to our "door guard" Sandra, supported this time round by Di, as Sheila is quite poorly at the moment. We all send her our love.

Also, thanks to Leslie and all the staff of The Hilton House Hotel, and the proprietors, Colin and Zoe.
