What exactly is Homeschooling?
Ask five different
homeschooling families what homeschooling
is and you'll probably get five different
answers. Basically, homeschooling is a
deeply personal, interactive relationship
between parents and their children. There
are many different methods, curriculum,
schedules, and philosophies used by
homeschoolers. The common bond that all
homeschool families share is the desire
to create the best atmosphere for their
children to grow and learn.
While most
parents have this desire, homeschooling
is not for everyone. It is a decision not
to be taken lightly. Homeschooling
requires complete devotion. (When you
think of it, shouldn't all the
responsibilities of parenting be given
complete devotion?)
However, it's not as
heavy a burden as you might think. With
all the resources available these days,
the hardest part is making the decision.
And for Christians the burden is taken
care of already, as are all our worries!
Opening our hearts and lives to Christ
gives us the power to succeed.
If
homeschooling is what God has in mind for
your family, then take heart. He will
never give you a task without going
through it with you!
