Johnny Cash Has Been A
Hit Since 1955
My celebrity is really....GREAT! THAT
DOES NOT EVEN COVER
IT!
"The world is going to xxxx in a handbaskket and
country..so called "country"..music is
leading the way.
Waylon, Willie, George, Loretta, Conway, Hank (all of them), et al (and, of
course, this is NOT a definitive list!)
are the last! Love 'em while we can."By

His first band was "The Landsberg
Barbarians", in 1954! Where did the name come from? Germany where he was
stationed! He Came home married,
after several menial jobs. His first
break was with Sam at Sun Records, "Hey
Porter" did not fare well, he got his
break with a big hit " Cry, Cry, Cry"in
1955, after a failed attempt with "Hey
Porter" his first song! Was offered a
role with Kirk Douglas in a western?
J.R.C.'s reaction?

JOHNNY CASH DAY
September 5, 1956, was quite a day on
the country music scene. The "Man in
Black," who was more recently quoted as
saying, "Country music used to represent horses, railroads, land, judgment day,
family, hard times, whiskey, courtship,
marriage, adultery, separatism, murder,
war, prison, rambling, damnation, home,
salvation, death, pride, humor, piety,
rebellion, patriotism, larceny,
determination, tragedy, rowdiness,
heartbreak, love, mother, and God"
(whew! and all true), made his big debut with a song about what a man will do for love: "I Walk the Line."
His spirited rendition reached #17 on
the pop music charts - and established
his star for sure. Now, he's become a
legend. His voice will welcome you to
