Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again

'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp

People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that
voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence

Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you

But my words,
like silent raindrops fell
And echoed
In the wells of silence
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said,
"The words of the prophets
are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"
And whispered in the sounds of silence
JUST TO SHARE A FEW WORDS OF MINE
I see so many sit in silence
lonely and getting older,
aching to be seen
for whom they are
yet so many pass them by
because they do not fit
"the ideal" in society's image.
We have become narrow minded
and judge the innocent,
the wherefores and whys
of people's lives and weaknesses.

Today I learn to wait
upon God's will
and His prompting to act,
sometimes I feel so alone
overwhelmed at this state;
wanting to yell or scream
does not undo this fate,
or bring me out of this hole
to make myself feel whole.

This brings me closer to God
a cry which I leave in His lap,
Good times seem like a shadow
in the far distant winds.
I have this ability to create
from within for others in need
What I need to do is be kind to me.

I am created to be loved
Often I over step
my limits and boundaries,
Still I await to hear
the words of love
I need so dear

God has reserved for me
so much good in life
reasons to smile more
to find a way out
of this lonely battle uphill alone
where I wish to throw in the towel
and tears refuse to stop flowing
yet I will await on the mercies
of our God to turn things around.

The sounds of silence are deafening
please be aware of the need
of a lonely heart most often
right before you in the shadows.
I turned my weaknesses
over to God
in prayers daily...

which draw me closer to HIM,
to hear where it is silent,
the tones of a broken heart,
or a lonely soul
who might be standing nearby,

whatever the cry,
to know Him
in the eyes of darkness.
to know those sounds
which whisper loudly
in silent refrains
Yes of their inner pain.

And now I give in to the
time of prayer's delight
and not give up the fight
to remain sane and stand
within the walls of GOD
where I know
I can freely be me.
if only others could see
the light, HE GIVES ME
in these halls of darkness.

Oh how it's warmth spread
over me like a gentle mist
of mighty falls'
which rises high to the sky
refreshing me in
it's gentle flow.
God decides who receives of it.
To him who receives of Him...
possesses more than life can offer,
THIS IS ETERNAL BLISS.
