Au Revoir, Les Miserables!

On May 18, 2003, Les Miserables closed on Broadway after more than 16 years in New York.

This longevity is second only to "Cats," another spectacular musical.

However, "Au Revoir" does not necessarily mean goodbye.

Les Mis lives on in dozens of countries and languages worldwide.

There is a widely popular school edition being performed throughout the nation.

And every Mizfit, including myself, has their Brick and their CSR to console themselves.

(For definitions of all this argot, click here for the LMFFI dictionary.)

This is a pic from the LAST Broadway performance of the original run. Special guests for the extraordinary finale included 41 students from the school edition musicals and approx. one zil. Mizzy alumni, including FRANCES RUFFELLE (!!!) and, unless I'm mistaken, Debbie Byrne. Steal this pic from me!

And, of course, the final performance took place at... The Imperial Theater!

*Sigh* I would love to visit New York, if only for the bright lights.
