The main character, Nathan Mathios, is the typical soon-to-be high schooler who has to deal something that sets him apart from most of his other classmates: the ability to sense other people's emotions and impulses, thus giving him control to help or defend others. He doesn't understand the nature of these abilties, but soon finds that whatever it is, it draws the attention of an alien named Shic Gogach, the last surviving member of the Chellosua race. This soon find him in the middle of a conflict between Shic and the race responsable for the extinction of the Chellosua, which soon complicates with the interferance of a couple of Mavericks and the recovery of the Emerald shards. This soon involves Maverick Hunter Zero, Sonic the Hedgehog and Co., and new-comers Ashura the Hedgehog and another mysterious character as they pursue Shic.
