Mailing Cards in a Envelope Help Page
In my past experiences, I've noticed from trading over the internet and
then have to mail 1 to 3 cards in the mail.
If the cards are not secured and well protected
they move around and can cut the fine edges of the envelope.
Thus losing
the cards inside. (Note: mainly a top holder will cut the
edges when moving around)
Also I been told by the Post Master General, that
if the envelope gets caught in the machine that sorts all the pieces of
mail. The envelope due to the thickness or
lose contents can get torn thru the conveyer belt.
(Note: For more the 3 cards, I recommend using a
small bubble mailer, these get special handling since they can't go thru the
conveyer belt like normal letters)
"Steps To Mail Out 1 Single Card And Up
To 3 Cards In A Single Top Loader"
- 1. Have a print out of the trade with all
information on both traders. (Name and address, user Id and trading site,
email address and the trade)
( I use Notepad, which is easy
to use) (Retain for your records as proof of a trade)
-
2. Tri fold the print-out (like a wallet)
-
3. Secure the 1-3 cards in a single top
loader, place a small piece of clear tape on the open end of
the top loader (Note: make sure not to tape
the cards inside the top loader)
-
4. Using the folded print-out tape the top loader
inside the print-out centered on one of the folds. Use either 2
inch wide tape or 1-2 pieces of small normal scotch tape to secure the top loader in place. (
I use the same packaging tape that is 2 inch wide I wrap my mailing boxes or
bubble mailers)
-
5. Place the folded print out in a business
envelope (Note: Works better than a small standard envelope)
- 6. With the envelope sealed, as a extra
precaution, tape down the sealed flap on the back side of the envelope and one
piece of tape on the each left and right sides of the envelope.
(Note: This is just in case the top
loader comes lose)
-
7. Next, I've made small labels that
say: "Please Don't Fold or Bend" and
"Hand Stamp Please".
All the tape doesn't add
to the cost to mail it out if your wondering, but "Hand Stamp Please" will cost
a few extra cents. (I think its worth it not to lose the cards)
-
8. Last mail it out. (Note: For higher valued cards
you can get delivery confirmation, this will provide a tracking number you can
track on the USPS web site) This will add to the cost also, but it's
worth the extra cost
again.
Hope this helps
