KINDNESS GROWS

The sun rose in the sky

I didn't ask what may .

I just knew that today would be

a good kind of day  .

Children played in the park

the breeze was  mild yet bright

and for some reason

everything just felt all right .

As I sat upon the park bench

hoping this feeling would never end

you came along

and sat next to me , my friend .

That day my life changed

for while I couldn't see

I knew that you would be a good friend

especially to me .

You showed me what kindness was

and how love could affect your heart

just by sitting next to me

you did your part .

So I arose from the bench

I said oh so much thank you

and then I went to spread that feeling

for it was one so true .

Kindness is a gift

but even more so

it is something that you  can give

and it will always grow .
