TimeSplitters in Shaun of the Dead

By Drifting

Shaun of the Dead is one of my favorite movies of all time. The self-proclaimed "rom zom com" is destined to be one of the greatest cult classics of all time. Its mixture of humor and horror is unique, and I suggest you try to get your hands on it sometime soon if you've yet to see it. Anyway, The purpose of this page, as you've probably figured out already, is to point out the various occurrences of TimeSplitters in the movie. Without further ado, let's get started.

There are a couple of instances where Ed is shown sitting around playing a TS2 deathmatch in the Streets. The picture above is from that scene. If you pay attention to it closely, you see Ed isn't even aiming at the Sgt., who I believe is Sgt. Wood. Another pic of the Streets level from Shaun of the Dead. I'm judging that this may have been a video pre-recorded for this scene.

There's also another instance near the beginning of the movie where Shaun sits down to play some TS. Unfortunately for him, he is soon interrupted.

There is a scene where Shaun is talking to his girlfriend on the phone and if you look behind him you can see Ed playing TS. The Scrapyard music is in the background noise. And if you pay close attention to the screen you can see he is just shooting at nothing and pausing every few seconds to remark something to Shaun.

And so there we have it. These are all the references in Shaun of the Dead to TS. Although, at the end of the movie Shaun goes out the shed to play TS with Ed, but they don't show the TV, plus there's a bit of a spoiler involved so I didn't post a picture. As a sort of thanks to the movie for the reference, Free Radical threw in a reference to Shaun of the Dead in TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. It is explained more throughly at here. Now then, go rent yourself Shaun of the Dead and see if you can spot these yourself! Happy hunting!
