The Ross Tregenza CutscenesBy DriftingToday I was searching on YouTube for some decent videos of the TimeSplitters: Future Perfect cutscenes when I came across two scenes apparently done by Ross Tregenza of Goteki. For those of you who don't know, Goteki was a British electronica band that recorded tracks such as "Goteki TS Remix" and "Who's the Mummy Temple" for use in the TimeSplitters games. So imagine my surprise when I came across two cutscenes with all the sounds and voices done by Tregenza. In the video description section, he states that he re-did all sounds and voicework in the two cutscenes for his game developer resume, suggesting he may be trying to get work from other game developers.Though I wouldn't say either cutscene is up to the standard of the in-game versions in terms of the quality of the dialog, Tregenza's effort is still commendable.
The first video posted is a re-recording of the "Helping Hand" cutscene that precedes the Scotland The Brave mission. The sounds are fairly spot-on in this one, although the Cortez pales in comparison to the authentic rendition.
The second video is a re-recording of the "Welcome Home" opening sequence of TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. Out of the two, I would say this one is probably the better example in terms of dialog, though that's strictly a matter of personal opinion. The two videos are an interesting footnote in the TimeSplitters universe, especially due to the link Ross Tregenza has with the TS series. Back to TimeSplitters - Leave a Comment? |
