TimeSplitters 2, much like its Rareware predecessors, is chock full of small details and secrets just waiting to be discovered. Here, Imp touches upon several of these "interesting things" in TimeSplitters 2.
The file cabinets in Siberia can be destroyed by Soviet grenades as well as mines. I'm sure it's not as efficent, but if you run out of mines I guess it's nice to know.
Inside the room where you open the door to enter the area under the dam, there is Communist propaganda posters on the walls.
You can use the showers in Siberia to put yourself out if you get caught on fire (in case you were wondering what the purpose of this room was).
This alarm is near the checkpoint in Siberia. It's the only alarm like this in the entire level, so one wonders about why it's there. It's most likely a reference to the alarms in the game GoldenEye, and this is confirmed by the similarity between the alarm sounds in both games.
This box is in a closet which also contains two of the filing cabinets. The thing I found odd about this is that most of the text throughout the level is in Russian, yet this box's label is written in English.
This is O'Leary's, a bar in the Chicago story level. It is one of the few buildings you can enter and is a major point of interest. One has to wonder if it isn't based off of the bar in Perfect Dark's Chicago.
Inside O'Leary's in Chicago, there is a cash register you can open. Unfortunately for us, you can't take the money.
If you look up at the sky in Chicago, occasionally a zeppelin floats by. This is ironic because the zeppelin is a German ship, of course.
Now here's a detail for hardcore TS fans. The Falucci Bros. import business was bought out by Big Tony when he started his criminal empire, according to his profile. A minor detail, but it shows the FRD team pays attention to putting in lots of minor details.
Outside Tony's restaurant, there's a sign for it. Everyone has probably noticed this already.
By using one of the phone booths, you can call a taxi, which will open up the gates to the little plaza outside Tony's restaurant for you. There's really no reason for it, except the cab can provide a bit of cover against Tony's men in the area.
This picture is in Big Tony's restaurant. If you know who this is, you can email me.
This is a picture of Rocky Marciano, a famous boxer. Thanks to Duckman Drake for sending in the name!
The first picture is the Sunrise's Club's main doors, the second a picture of a wall in Perfect Dark's dataDyne Tower. Coincidence? I think not.
The cross that Jacque used to kill the maiden on in the opening scene can be found near the end of Notre Dame.
Now here's something kinda cool. If you go down this stairway in NeoTokyo, you'll run into a few TimeSplitters 2 posters with Ghost on them.
The police cruiser in NeoTokyo has a sequence of numbers underneath it, which I guess is a license plate of some sort. This one says PJN-387.
In the Wild West level, you'll notice that the flag is at least somewhat accurate in the fact that it doesn't have fifty stars (as there weren't fifty states yet.) Don't give FRD too much credit though, because in the Colonel's profile, it says he's a deserter from the Confederate Army, even though the level is based in 1856, 5 years before the Civil War even began!
Here's an interesting video. The Undead Priest does The Sign of the Holy Trinity. He'll do this for as long as he doesn't see you. Thanks to Shock Trooper for telling me what the sign is called!
Here's a movie of the Master healing you in NeoTokyo.
I'm aware there are more secrets and I will be putting them up shortly. If you discover anything noteworthy, please drop a line to my e-mail address and inform me of it so I can add it. Until then, it's time to split.
