“Hogwarts the Great” To the tune of
Scotland the Brave, the Scottish National Anthem.
Hark when the night is falling,
Hark hear Hagrid calling
“First-years, this way for the boats to the lake,”
When the Great Hall you’re entering,
you’ll feel your heart a beating,
Watch the school ghosts coming out through the walls.
School on a mountain high,
My mind I will apply,
And there be sorted in one of its glorious Houses.
School with its own story,
School of an ancient glory,
School of my heart forever, Hogwarts the Great.
Highly prepared teachers,
Lots of interesting subjects,
Hundreds of volumes to read in its Library.
Under Dumbledore’s kind eyes
Go by the students’ days,
Merry, until they end up with Madam Pomfrey.
School on a mountain high,
My mind I will apply,
And there be sorted in one of its glorious Houses.
School with its own story,
School of an ancient glory,
School of my heart forever, Hogwarts the Great.
Your house is your family,
Always talk about it proudly,
And on the stands support your Quidditch team,
Your triumphs earn house points,
Rule-breaking loose those points,
And if you get detention your smile won’t beam.
School on a mountain high,
My mind I will apply,
And there be sorted in one of its glorious houses.
School with its own story,
School of an ancient glory,
School of my heart forever, Hogwarts the Great.
