Looking like an Airplane!
The wings are folded back and stowed as they will be for transport. Thanks again to Mike for helping me achieve the necessary
critical alignment. This is how it is able to fit in my tiny garage!
This is the first time the plane has been on its wheels and had the wings folded out with the engine temporarily in place. It's really
looking like a plane now!
A view from the side. The ailerons are drooping because the control linkage is not hooked up yet.
A view from the rear.
The engine and prop are temporarily in place. It should all make sense now for those of you who have been wondering exactly where it goes.
The carb and muffler are not yet installed. The single carb goes where the masking tape is.
Unfortunately, the seat will be one of the last pieces to be installed. It gets rather permanently riveted in and I will be painting inside
the "cockpit" so I don't need the seat in the way. Until that's all done I'll be hanger flying with a steel tube pressing into my skinny butt.
I sure hope the real seat is more comfortable than that!
WHAT'S NEXT? - I'll continue to do a few more minor bits and pieces here and there and maybe install some instruments in the next few weeks. I'll
be on vacation the entire week of the Fourth of July. I plan to start covering the plane then. Looks like I'm still on track for a September maiden
flight.
