THE RUNNING TANNERS!

(Sing to the tune of "The Flintstones")

Tanners, meet the Tanners.
They're your average running family.
From the town of Pendleton,
Now they're grown and living separately.

Help them! They would really like to meet.
To run, 26 miles on their feet!

When you pimp the Tanners,
You'll have a chance to dress them this time.
They'll run a good time.
You'll have a gay old time!

We are three siblings in our 20's and 30's who live apart from Oregon to New Jersey. To keep our family together over the years as we raise our families, we have decided to run a marathon, 26.2 miles, together in each of the 50 states (over the next couple of decades!). So far we have checked off Washington state, finishing the Seattle Marathon in 2005 (see starting line photo!). With only 49 more races to go, we are setting up this website to motivate ourselves, and to accept donations for our expensive goal.

We will run the 26.2 miles.
For our donors, we offer three levels of service:

1) Any amount donated. We will run with your name or any name of your choosing on our race number or clothing. This is a way for us to remember all those who made our run possible. If you'd like to donate our run to a friend we will wear their name and keep them in our thoughts for 26.2 miles.

2) Donations exceeding $500. You dress the runners. If you are in need of advertising, you are in luck. We are mid-pack runners, which means 4-5 hours of solid advertising to mainstream America (not those elite runners, who are probably more difficult to market to anyway!). Some constraints apply: Clothing must FIT, be WEATHER APPROPRIATE, MARATHON RUNNING APPROPRIATE and NOT OBSCENE. Other than that we are up for anything. (In our last marathon, we saw a runner wearing a tutu!).

3) Donations exceeding $2,000. In addition to dressing the runners, you also get to choose the marathon, within the continental US, excluding any states we've run before (currently Washington state).
