The Supposed-Villain

Panel 1:

Baelian understood it too.

Being a dream-scape, distance was no matter---they could see the figure as though he were standing just before them. His colorations were different, and he was visibly smirking in a way Baelian did not, but they could recognize him.

An aetherial dragon, one who'd defied the gods' adjustments to reality---and stayed aetherial rather than physical---was circling around a suspiciously Mifretereceran, older Baelian. The absences of the Aer'Ilath spreading, as he hovered in the air and observed his surroundings...

Panel 2:

Baelian shuddered, and thrust through the lucid-mist back into the library

Ridaethel hurriedly let the spell fall before Baelian left its perimeter, and pulled off his mask before the boy left.

For some reason, lucid-mist was lingering around him, trailing and wisping off of him quite like the dragon had trailed around the vision-Baelian...

"What was that? Why would you ever..."

Panel 3:

Ridaethel trailed off, staring as Baelian paused. Physically the boy was near the doorway, but the vision imagery was still floating about him as he glowed. The problem was, his surroundings didn't even match what the vision should have been showing. They had been 'standing' on a cliff as they looked out at the village, but Baelian appeared to be paused on a staircase... his hand, reaching for the doorway, had literally grasped on the lucid-railing!

His shoulders had slouched, and a weary expression crossed Baelian's face.

"I... Thanks."

He cut himself off from giving an explanation.

"...That's all I needed."
