Romeo and Juliet Similarities Admira and Bosko
They lived in Verona, Italy. In both stories the couples fell in love at sight. Their story takes place in Sarajevo.
Their parents did not promote their love. They had to hide their love in order to survive. Their parents embraced their love.
Their love was hidden. They tried to flee from their homelands in order to maintain their love. Admira was Muslim and Bosko was Serbian.
Romeo was seventeen when he fell in love with Juliet, who was thirteen. They were both willing to risk their lives for love. Admira and Bosko were both twenty-five when they fell in love.
Romeo and Juliet got married. They died in each others arm, fully devoted to one another. Backgrounds were conflicting and led to their death.
Romeo was a Montegue and Juliet was a Capulet. Their families hated each other. Romeo and Juliet's story, and Admira and Bosko's story, are tragic tales of love, passion, and death. They were shot and killed on a bridge in Sarajevo.
The families and their hate led to their death. Had trouble seening each other because their love wasn't well liked by the community. They knew each other for along time.

Timeline

1991- Admira Ismic receives letters from Bosko describing his whereabouts and involvements in the Serbian War.
     "Now, good sweet nurse- O Lord, why/lookest thou sad?/Though news be sad, yet tell them merrily."    -Romeo and Juliet

1992- Serbain attacks first began
     "...And, if we meet, we shall not 'scape a brawl,/ For now, these hot days, is the mad blood stirring."    -Romeo and Juliet

August,1992- Rada, Boskos mother, goes to Cleo one night after Bosko almost gets killed by a artillery shell.
     "He jests at scars that never felt a wound..."    -Romeo and Juliet

August 23, 1992- Rada goes to Cleo and begs him to help her.
      "I'll tell thee ere thou ask it me again."    -Romeo and Juliet

April 5, 1992- Serbs filled the street to support multiple independent states.
     "Rebellious subjects, enemies to peace,/Profaners of this neighbor-stained steel-/Will they not bear.../On pain of torture from those bloody hands/Throw your mistempered weapons to the ground."    -Romeo and Juliet

November 16, 1993- Admira and Bosko have to meet in secret at Bosko's house to discuss their plans for escape.
     " That I shall say good night till it be morrow"-Romeo and Juliet

May, 1993- Admira Ismic and Bosko Brkic, seeking safety, decide to flee the besieged city of Sarajevo.
     "...immediately we do exile him hence."    -Romeo and Juliet

May 19, 1993- While crossing a bridge leading out of Sarajevo, during a cease fire, Admira Ismic and Bosko Brkic are shot down by snipers.
     "Where be these enemies... See what a scourge is laid upon your hate,"    -Romeo and Juliet

July 1995- Serb forces launched attacks on the UN safe areas in eastern Bosnia. This forced thousands of Muslims froms their homes.
     "Wash they his wounds with tears? Mine shall be spent,/When theirs are dry, for Romeo's banishment."   -Romeo and Juliet

August, 1995- Shells launched from Serb positions landed in a marketplace in Sarajevo killing 85 people. Admira and Bosko lay dead
     "O noble Prince, I can discover all/ The unlucky manage of this fatal brawl."    -Romeo and Juliet
