Ponyboy is the youngest of all the greasers. He is 14 years old and lives with his two older brothers, Darry and Soda Pop because his parents died in a car wreck. At home Ponyboy gets along fine with Soda but not with Darry, he finds him strict and not understanding. He is best friends with Johnny Cade and loves to read and watch movies. His pride and joy is his silky long brown hair which he unfortunately has to cut off and dye it blond at the old church in Windrixville.

He is potrayed by C. Thomas Howell in the movie.
