Dear Attorney Read:
This letter is to confirm our conversation on October 31, 2005 as well as some other issues concerning your representation of Mr. Lakeith
Amir-Sharif.
On October 31, 2005 you told me:
1. The application for Examining Trial was not filed before the Grand Jury
convened despite your telling Sharif during your visit with him on October 26, 2005 that you were going to the courtroom that date, you failed to do so.
2. That according to the Texas Law, the charge of stalking is a "class A" misdemeanor, not a felony as Sharif has been charged. Also that you were filing a writ of Habeas Corpus addressing this issue and the excessive ($150,000.00) bail placed on Sharif's liberty.
3. If the District Court denied your writ on November 10, 2005, that you will file an appeal, because Sharif has never been previously convicted of stalking or any crimes of violence and the protective order in the case no. cv-05-00157-v-292nd (granted by default "after" the alleged stalking allegation) is not a conviction.
4. On November 17, 2005 Sharif was denied a reduced bond. Did you begin the appeal process regarding this hearing?
5. On November 17, 2005, while in your presence, I handed your investigator Edwin Cornier completed subpoenas that needed to be served. Your investigator said that he would serve the subpoenas. Were they served by your investigator?
Now about the other issues Sharif has asked me to remind you of you not to have him brought to any court hearings unless his presence is absolutely required inside the court. As Sharif has told you, he is in solitary confinement without cause and denied all rights and privileges given others due to his web page concerning the Dallas County Jail and the Dallas Courts.He has become a target of reprisal by unscrupulous jail employees and guards of the Dallas Sheriff's Department and we do not wish to place him in harm's way if at all possible.
Finally by now you have received and reviewed the evidence I brought to your office, which cast a highly dubious cloud around the allegations and credibility of Cathy J. Hawkins.
Please keep me informed of any new developments in Sharif's case. If I can help you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.

_____________________NOTE: Kay, My friend is going to confirm in writing the conversation with Atty Read as to the appeal issue and my being charged with a felony stalking rather than a “class A” misdemeanor. I felt it very important to confirm this conversation with that attorney because of what it would reveal about him if he didn’t file the appeal.
We need to leave them with the understanding that their every action is subject to scrutiny by unknown observers/ reporters. “Big Brother” back at them. If you sign off on it will have the same powerful impact since people report things to you. You decide how to handle that. I’m just hoping we can get this article done SOON so we can start mailing, faxing, emailing it out and not allow too much time to pass since the courts denial of the writ. This also serve notice on them what they’ll face if they keep filing “BS” charges. Then we follow up this article with the ones on:
a) Malicious & Selective Prosecution and on
b) The Discrepancies, Contradictions of Cathy’s Accusations
It will surely shake things up at the court, the DA’s office, Atty Read’s office and anywhere else the articles are sent. Call it cocky, but I feel we can pressure them into abandoning their activities if they are exposed to enough key people. Evil works best under the cover of darkness. They can’t afford for too many people to hear and start watching what they are doing to me. That’s why timing on our part is critical in exposing them as soon as they do something.
