Cathy Jonette Hawkins' Affidavits
Although Dallas DA Craig Watkins represents himself as having an open records policy, the records on Sharif's case appear to be signed, sealed and closed to Sharif and his attorneys. We have this affidavit, sworn to signed on February 10th 2005 by Cathy Jonette Hawkins, and filestamped by the courts on February 14th 2005. It was obtained by a member of Sharif's family soon after it was filed in court. We want to show you the discrepancies and far-fetched allegations between this affidavit, the transcript from her November 17, 2005 testimony and other documents (if and when they become available before Sharif's trail)withheld from the defense in Craig Watkins' "open file".We will also be posting other documents, such as emails and letters written by Ms. Hawkins that further exposes her lack of credibility and some distrubing comments that leaves you wondering as to her mental stability. After viewing all these items you will come to realize for yourself that Ms. Hawkins is a broken-hearted, angry and troubled individual who is obviously living in a fantasy world and in need of some serious mental health services.
Men Presumed Guilty by Domestic Violence Laws, Experts Say :WASHINGTON, October 16, 2007 – Our nation's domestic violence laws have reached the point that the mere accusation of abuse triggers a legal response that short-circuits due process. As a result, men are often presumed guilty without evidence of abuse, according to experts. Michael Weiss and Cathy Young, writing in a Cato Institute report, noted that persons have been working for years to "reverse the presumption of innocence" by revamping state laws that govern domestic violence and sexual assault cases. That bias was evident in the Duke lacrosse case where three students accused of rape were subjected to numerous prosecutorial abuses, despite the lack of evidence of assault. Last week the three former players filed a federal lawsuit against former prosecutor Michael Nifong and the city of Durham for alleged "premeditated police, prosecutorial, and scientific misconduct."
