THE NATURE Of SHARIF
A Man of Many Faces
" The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." ~Eleanor Roosevelt |
I have worked on various projects with Mr. Sharif for many years and I know him to be a sane, intelligent and competent man. If he has a problem, he will work as hard and as long as it takes to solve it. He is loyal to family and friends and would never hurt even a stranger intentionally. He is honest, quick to admit mistakes and expects the same of others.
Sharif has done a lot to help his community. He has volunteered with the following organizations: STEPS, Buckner Children's Home, Boys/Girls Club; He has worked on Ex-Felon's issues with Making The Walls Transparent; and he has spoken around the country for any number of honorable causes.
He is without doubt a warrior for human rights.
He is also persistent and when he comes across wrongdoing, he will tackle it with the tenacity of a bulldog with a hambone. With that in mind, you can understand why he has focused on the Dallas Justice System in such a fierce manner. Somebody certainly needs to. Kay Lee
On the left is a picture of myself traveling through the airport to meet my family and friends to celebrate my birthday in 2004. Above is one of my sisters, Donna, (in the white dress), and our family friend, Veronica, (in the jeans jacket).. We are standing outside my favorite steak restaurant where they gave me a dinner party for my b-day. It was a much happier time before Dallas County interrupted my life. Nevertheless, I shall take this experience and turn it into a positive for all those poor and working class people as myself whom I met while in jail (and those Ididn't meet but who do exist) - those who are afraid, unaware or unable to challenge and seek solutions that will prevent the countless injustices I and others witnessed and experienced at the Frank Crowley Courts Building and at the infamous Dallas county jail. MTWT's efforts aren't welcomed by those responsible for the jail and courts here: The reason is pretty obvious, but I pray that one day soon the Sheriff, the jailers, judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys and politicians, both local and in Austin, will realize the importance to our community, our state and humanity as a whole that the problems we've pointed out (and those yet unknown) are addressed.
Today, the world has a very poor perception of our Texas and United States justice/prison systems. This is a situation that can no longer be discounted and swept under the rug by our public officials. Human and civil right violations and official misconduct/corruption of any type are simply unacceptable in my eyes, and I believe many other people share these same feelings.
I am in for the long haul with MTWT on this, because our sacrifices and efforts today are made in hopes of creating a better society and brighter future for tomorrow's generations. Sharif
Sharif's current problems with the Dallas County 'Justice' System began in January 2005 with a typo in a letter from his misdemeanor probation officer. Unkown to many is that this error has balloned into a bill of more than two hundred fifty thousand dollars(and counting)and the taxpayers have been left holding the bag. On April 21, 2008, (more than 3 years after the fact) Sharif is scheduled for trial on the first of two felony charges still pending against him. Dallas-area taxpayers really need to ask themselves is this the way you want to see your elected officials, namely D.A. Craig Watkins and the Commissioners Court, spending precious dollars intended for use in catching "REAL CRIMINALS" so that our streets are safe? It's seems these officials believe that what taxpayers don't know about, can't hurt them nor their re-election bids.
