More than she bargained for . . .
When Lila Fowler's mysterious new boyfriend finally appears at her pool party, Jessica Wakefield is dazzeled. Jack is handsome, sexy, and exciting - even more perfect than Lila described him. So Jessica wastes no time making sure he notices her, too.
Unknown to Lila, Jack dates both girls - Jessica during the week and Lila on weekends. But the sight if Lila's happy face on Monday is more than Jessica can stand! Jessica's twin sister, Elizabeth, warns her to drop Jack before she really gets hurt. But Jessica would rather get Lila out of the picture. Then Jack will be hers - all hers.
"I was wondering if you woud like to go out sometime this week," Jack proposed. "How does the day after tomorrow sound?"
Wednesday, Jessica thought. That was two days before Lila would even have a chance at him. "Wednesday's perfect."
"So, I'll see you then. I'm looking forward to it," Jack said.
"Me, too," replied Jessica. After she said goodbye, she put down the receiver and gave a shriek of excitement.
"Jess, what are you yelling about?" Mrs. Wakefield called from the other room.
"Oh, nothing, Mom," she called back. Nothing except the most gorgeous, charming, mysteriously exciting guy in the whole world, she added to herself. Let Lila sneak behind her father's back. Jessica was cinvinced that she wouldn't be doing it for long. Because soon Jack would be eating out of Jessica's hand, and Lila would be nothing more than a name in his past.
