But something hit her first. It slammed into her feet from below, throwing her off balance and jamming every joint in her body. Devon grabbed her arm, the anger in his face transformed into fear. Impossibly, the water in the pool reached up as a single entity, like a sea serpant coming to life, before sloshing back into it's container, roiling frenetically. The patio around the pool rippled like water. Deep below the earths surface a power like nothing Elizabeth had ever imagined rumbled and roared and threatened to tear her world apart.
