The Wakefield twins and their friends at Sweet Valley High are in festive spirits. It's Christmas vacation, the annual parade is just days away, secret Santas are busy buying suprise gifts, and everyone's talking about the holiday dance at the Patmans' mansion. Jessica Wakefield is determined to be named Miss Christmastime, and Elizabeth is counting the days until she is reunited with her faraway boyfriend, Todd Wilkins.
It seems nothing can spoil Jessica and Elizabeth's holiday - until Mr. and Mrs. Wakefield announce the arrival of an unwelcome houseguest. Now it looks as though this Christmas might be the worst ever!
"Steve, it's going to be the best Christmas ever!" Elizabeth declared.
"Whoa," Steven said, shaking his head sadly as he looked at the twins. "I just found something out that made my Christmas spirit dry up in a flash."
"What is it?" The twins exchanged anxious glances.
"What would you say if I told you that the Abomidable Snowman is coming to stay with us - and there's nothing we can do about it?"
Elizabeth looked completely baffled. "Seve, what are you talking about?"
"Mr. Devlin," Steven said, pronouncing the name as though it hurt to say it, "called from New York just after I got home."
"Go on," Jessica said. "What else did he say?"
"He said," Steven continued, "that everythings all set. Suzanne will be arriving Sunday afternoon. And she will be staying here for two whole weeks!"
"Suzanne Devlin," Elizabeth said, her face draining of color. "But, Steve, that's impossible!"
