"Um - so what did you do last night?" I asked Damon, stumbling over the words. Why was he staring at me so coldly?
"Watched a movie on TV," Damon said with a shrug. "Nothing too exciting."
"So . . . yeah, I didn't do anything much either," I said, even though it's not like he even asked me.
The first bell rang.
"Well, I'd better go," I said uncertainly.
"Later." Damon gave me a lazy wave and headed off in the opposite direction.
I shook my head in amazement. Hello?
I'd wanted to be Damien's girlfriend for so long.
But now that I was, Damon wasn't even acting like Damon. I just wished I knew why.
