JESSICA: I thought changing schools was hard. Now I'm moving to another state. What about my friends? My boyfriend? My life?
ELIZABETH: My parents keep telling me to be positive. I am trying. But if I could have one wish, it would be to stay in Sweet Valley.
Too bad that’s not going to happen.

Could things get any worse?

"Is that all you can talk about? Utah?" I shouted at my father, my hands balling into fists. "I guess you're going to tell us how great and fabulous and perfect living there is going to be, right? Well, you know what? I think it's going to be the worst thing that eve happened to me.""
"Jessica-"
"Oh, wait!" I said, ignoring my dad's stern tone. "The worst thing that ever happened to me already happened. This afternoon. Damon and I broke up. Wanna know why?" I said, glaring at my father. "Because of you! Damon hates me, and it's all your fault! You don't care about anybody!"
I turned and ran out of the dining room, and took the stairs two at a time. I slammed the door to my room, and turned the lock, even though I was forbidden to ever lock my door. I didn't care about my parents' stupid rules anymore. I didn't care about anything they had to say.
