I want Conner back.
He says he wants me back.
But "they" say people like us shouldn't date each other.
And I'm starting to wonder if "they" might be right.
"You know what?" Alanna interrupted. "Forget it. You're right. I'll be fine. Imjust need to get over it and let it go. Thanks. I'll talk to you later," she added, and before Conner could respond, she pressed the off button on her cordless phone and threw the reciever down on her bed.
The problem was she wasn't going to just get over it. She was still reeling fromall the things her father had said to her, and now she was fuming about Conner's insensitivity, too. Alanna picked up the phone again. If only she could find someone who would just listen and sympathize without telling her what she was doing wrong. But who? She stared at the numbers on the phone face and tried to think of someone she could call.
