And that's exactly when Jessica and Ellen show up at school with all their new things. If they tell the truth now, they'll get in trouble for keeping the secret, but if they don't say where they got the money, they'll be accused of stealing. How will Jessica and Ellen be able to prove their innocence?

Buried Treasure!

Jessica and Ellen carried the metal box up to Ellen's bedroom and locked the door. Ellen pursed her lips, sawing the rusty box lock with her father's hacksaw.
"It's almost . . . there!" The lock fell on the floor.
"Shhh," said Jessica. She opened the lid and blew away a layer of dust and dirt.
"Omigod!" whispered Ellen. Inside was a large pile of yellowed twenty-dollar bills, still in their wrappers. Underneath were two old-fashioned photographs and some faded letters.
Jessica snatched the money off the pile and began counting.
"How much? How much?" asked Ellen.
"Two . . . two hundred dollars!" Jessica couldn't beieve their luck. "We're rich!"
