Birds of a feather . . .
Ginny Lu Culpepper has such high hopes for her life in Sweet Valley. But after just one day of being rediculed by her new classmates, she's beginning to wish she was back home in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. When Elizabeth Wakefield comes to her rescue, Ginny Lu realizes that being different doesn't have to be bad. In fact, being different makes her quite special.
Even Elizabeth's twin sister, Jessica, is willing to help Ginny Lu - especially when it will mean getting herself out of a jam at the same time. But how can the twins convince the other kids to give the new girl a chance?
A New Girl
Elizabeth caught sight of a thin, redheaded girl weaving through the tables toward the far side of the room. She remembered the incident in Mrs. Arnette's class and frowned.
Amy saw her too, and said, "That poor girl. It must be awful to be new and have people make fun of you."
Nora nodded. "Boy, she sure has changed since her first day of school. She was so smiley and friendly then. Now she hardly looks at anybody."
"Well, can you blame her?" Elizabeth said, setting down her notebook. "After that mean trick Lila and Ellen played on her at the mall yesterday, I'm suprised she even came to school!"
