Bitter rivals . . .

Jessica Wakefield has written an article about the Unicorn Club for the class newspaper, The Sweet Valley Sixers. As it's editor, her twins sister, Elizabeth, has promised to run the article in the very next issue. But when Elizabeth has to take Jessica's article out at the last minute, Jessica's furious!
Jessica and her fellow Unicorns decide to teach Elizabeth a lesson by starting their own paper, The Unicorn News. Before long, it's clear that Sweet Valley Middle School isn't big enough for two newspapers, and Jessica's begins to take the lead. Will Elizabeth's beloved Sixers be able to hold its own against the sensational new that the Unicorns print?

The war of the wrods

"Jessica," Elizabeth said, in a low voice, "putting out a newspaper takes alot of work. Besides, there's probably not room for two newspapers at this school."
Jessica gave a short laugh. "That's really what you're afraid of, isn't it, Elizabeth? You're afraid that our newspaper will be so good that nobody will want to read yours."
"No, I'm not," Elizabeth replied, starting to get angry again. "I just don't want you to go to a lot of work just to make me mad!"
"Oh, Elizabeth, don't worry about that!" She turned away from her twin and waved at Lila and Ellen. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go. The Unicorns are having a meeting this afternoon to organize our first edition, and I don't want to be late." She started to go, then turned back. "Oh, and thank you for rejecting my article," she said in a nasty voice. "If it hadn't been for you, I might never have gotten my brilliant idea!"
Elizabeth watched as Jessica walked away with her friends. If that's the way you feel, Jessica, she said to herself, then the battle of the newspapers is on!
