Identical twins Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield don't always agree on things - until Brooke Dennis arrives at Sweet Valley. Both twins agree that she's horrible. She snaps at everyone who tries to be nice to her and she's constantly saying mean things to people.
To get even with Brooke, the twins invent a third look-alike sister whom they call Jennifer. Pretty soon all of Sweet Valley Middle School is in on the plan. But then Elizabeth discovers the real reason why Brooke is so mean. Suddenly, the plan to get revenge doesn't seem like such a good idea. Can Elizabeth stop her classmates from playing the ultimate joke before Brooke's heart gets broken?
Elizabeth stared in disbelief as Brooke left the lunch line and walked toward their table. Brooke put her tray in front of the empty seat by Lila.
"Wait a minute, you can't sit there," said Amy.
"And why, may I ask, can't I sit here?" Brooke said.
"Look, there are plety of other tables," suggested Lila. "Go ruin someone else's day. This seats taken."
"That's funny." Brooke glared at the fifth chair. "It looks pretty empty to me."
"Well, it's not," said Elizabeth, trying to hold her temper. "We're saving it."
"That's right," Lila agreed suddenly. "It's reserved."
"Yes!" Suddenly Jessica came alive. She had come up with the perfect scheme. "That seat's saved for my sister."
"Your what?" Brooke looked confused. "What do you mean? Your sister's right here."
"My other sister," Jessica said. "Didn't you know? We're triplet5s. That seats saved for Jennifer."
Elizabeth didn't like to lie. But for once, she felt that someone actually deserved to be on the wrong end of one of Jessica's crazy schemes . . .
