Soccer fever has hit Sweet Valley Middle School! Everyone is excited about the upcoming season, including identical twins Jessicaa and Elizabeth Wakefield. But Jessica's happiness quickly fades when she learns that the school plans to tear down some beautiful old trees to make room for a bigger soccer field. Jessica risks her popularity, and possibly the soccer team's chance at a big championship, by starting an enviromental crusade to save the trees.
But can she hold her ground against al her new enemies - including the boy she likes?

"Come back inside!" Jessica heard Mr. Clark's voice bellow over the noise of the bulldozer. "Come back inside right now!"
Jessica looked behind her again and saw Mr. Clark, Mrs. Knight, Mr. Sweeney, and several other teachers chasing the students.
More and more kids were pouring out of the school now. The pro-soccer fraction was chasing the teachers. Lila, Janet, Peter, Aaron, Bruce, Denny, and dozens of other kids were streaming out of the doorsJessica raced past the bulldozer and saw the driver do a double take when he saw her and all the other kids running behind her.
She ran over to a tree, reached into her backpack, and removed a bicycle chain and padlock.
SNAP! went the lock as Jessica chained herself to the trunk of the tree, wrapping the chain around her waist and the thick trunk. "Now try to bulldoze this tree!" she yelled at the driver.
