A matchmaking disaster . . .

The members of the Unicorn Club are donating themselves to charity! For a price, they'll obey a classmates wishes for an entire day. But with the big Valentine's Day dance coming up, Jessica Wakefield can't resist turning the fund-raiser into a matchmaking plan.
Jessica knows Mandy Miller has a huge crush on Peter Jefferies. She orders Mandy, as her servant for a day, to ask Peter to the dance.
But Peter turns Mary down! And then Jessica ends up as Mandy's servant for the day. Can Jessica repair her matchmaking fiasco before Mandy takes her revenge?

A big deal . . .

"So, Peter . . . um . . . I was wondering," Mandy began, staring at the floor. She was so nervous, she felt as if she were going to faint. "Would you . . . uh . . . like to go with me on Saturday?"
Peter looked confused. "Go where?"
"Oh." Mandy blushed. "Right. Uh . . . I meant, to the Valentine's Dance. Whether you would go with me to that." Really smooth, Mandy, she thought miserably.
Mandy was so nervous about Peter's answer, it seemed as if it took him about an hour to say anything. He finally smiled and caught her eye. "Thanks for asking me," he said. "I mean, that's really nice."
Mandy felt her heart leap. He said yes! I can't believe it!
Peter cleared his throat. "But I already have a date." He shrugged just as the bell rang. "I'm really sorry."
She turned around and practically ran down the hallway. She had to get out of there as fast as she could. She couldn't let Peter see how upset and embarrased she was.
No big deal, she kept telling herself as she walked to her locker. It's not that big a deal. But she knew it was. She'd never be able to look Peter in the face again.
